We always keeps the environment in mind when building for any purpose. One of the biggest ways we build sustainably is through reclaimed heart pine wood floors. Instead of buying flooring that was not long ago a living, breathing part of an ecosystem, Erik Homes and many of our clients choose to build with reclaimed heart pine flooring taken from buildings that are no longer in use. In doing so, we greatly reduce the amount of waste created in the demolition process of these old structures, as well as helping to lessen the extent of ongoing deforestation caused by the demand for materials–such as hardwood floors. Aside from our reclaimed hardwood being sustainable, it also makes for impressive, beautiful floors. Rich colors and reclaimed character provide these floors with a guaranteed “WOW” effect.
